Books or films?

Books or films?
It is very debatable that books or films are better but both of them have a lot of advantages and disadvantages.
Books have a lot more imaginaries in them than movies have. People just read the words and they can see the whole World in their mind. Everyone who read the same book, imagine locations, the protagonists, and the conversations completely diffently. For instant they can change the main characters to themselves and live their own life in the books.
On the other hand, movies can be even more dramatic. If we look at the actor's faces while they are crying or laughing the emotion impact on us are likely to be stronger so it is possible that we start to cry or laugh as well. Watching moovies can be a good programme with our friends, but read a book is a "one person" activity.
Sometimes it is easier to watch a moovie than read a book. There are several books that have been made into movies. This is especially helpful for people who have difficulties in reading or they are lazy, as watching the moovie as well as reading the book can enhance experience.
Books and moovies both have equal importance for the man of 21st. century. In our running World, books and moovies provide us the opportunity to relax a little bit and break away from our problems.

Religion and Atheism

wrtitten by Makszin Alexandra and Farkas Katalin

For most people in the world, religion is something that guides them in life. These people believe religion is the most important thing in life, something that gives them a reason to live and motivation. But there are other people who are either non-religious or atheists; they are known not to believe in religion but to rely on other things such as science and their own judgement to evaluate things. Religious people follow their life in a particular way by given instructions from what they believe in, whereas non-religious people do not follow their life by any instructions; their life is not influenced by religion in any way but their own choices and opinions. Atheists deny in the existence in a higher power which has created everything around them and given them lives. There is a different way to compare religious and non-religious people for example if we talk about existence itself; religious people believe in an omniscient supernatural power which has created them for a reason and that their existence is important. On the downside, non-religious people do not really believe in the importance of existence and they view their beliefs and answers questions through science; they put their faith into science itself.
Furthermore, all of religious people exercise their faith in God and follow given instructions. We have many religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Muslims; they all follow a concept and had been given instructions which give people a meaning for life and their whole life is based upon them. On the other hand, non-religious people do not follow this given instructions and they answer their questions with their own opinion when it comes to nature and existence. Religious and non-religious people are two independent distinct aspects of life; they live their lives in different ways based on their own opinions or given instructions by their belief. Some people find living life with a religion is much easier and reliable; since religion gives them the opportunity to follow given instructions, it gives them in a way a purpose for their existence. Despite of it, non-religious people find it hard to believe in such a power because there is no proof of its existence; instead of it, they rely on something that is physically there and has been proven to exist because it is more reliable. Therefore a lot of atheists rely on science to answer their questions. However, even great scientists such as Albert Einstein said: “Religion without science is lame, but science without religion is blind.” That quote from Einstein proves that both religion and science co-exist for and are proved for each other.

E-books and paper books

While both e-books and traditional books have their pros and cons, there are multiple factors that decide which one should be chosen over the other, either because of necessity or pure indulgence. Firstly, the most principal factors are the portability and the accessibility of our preferable item. On one hand, the e-book is an easy to carry tool that can contain hundreds of books. On the other hand, traditional books are heavy, and they take up a great amount of space in our bags, resulting that a person cannot carry only one or two books in the same time. Secondly, when our reading preferences are considered, one must not forget to discuss about the feeling of both objects. In this criterion the book wins with a landslide: from the feeling of turning the smooth paper pages to the smell of a library when a book is opened. The paper book’s superior experience over the cold and rigid sensation of digital screens, where turning pages is done by a button, and the pleasant smell is non-existent, cannot be debated. Lastly, there is the price of the devices that must be taken into consideration. E-books come in distinct categories, but usually it requires a small investment of money to get one. Afterwards, e-books can be purchased for cheaper prices then their traditional format. Paper books are usually more expensive than their digital counterparts because they are printed, and this process costs a lot. However, it would be unfair not to mention the possibilities of renting books from libraries for a very minimal money investment. As a conclusion, one can see that both kinds of books have their advantages and disadvantages. It comes down to whether the customer wants a device that’s easy to access and portable, or traditional and authentic.

Brief description of a matchbox

There is a beaten up matchbox laying around on my desk. It measures roughly 10 cm in length, 5 cm across and 3 cm in height. The box itslef is yellow with in the middle, and orange on the sides. On the top there is an off-center flame motif, and some text that reads „KORONA, biztonsági gyufa”.  On one side there is a dark borwn strip of course paper that is rough to the touch, the other has the image of a match printed on it. Sliding the once white inner tray out reveals a handful of slightly burnt wooden matches. The pieces of wood that were left unharmed are stained by a fine layer of charcoal dust. This black dust isn’t only on the matches. It gathers in the corners and edges of the cardboard aswell. Every single match has been used.

The elegant man

One of the most elegant men I know is my father. Elegancy does not mean just the appearance, but also the inner qualities, for example listening to other people, and paying attention while they are telling something. My father mostly behaves this way, completely gentle, observant and sophisticated. Furthermore the clothing and the appearance is also very important in his life. He works in a bank; therefore the business wear is definitely stylish. Normally he wears a light shirt with a darker suit and a soft tie. He never leaves to work without his patent leather shoe. As an extra, his dressy watch is usually on his wrist. His final step in the morning routine is using a mannish perfume. I think the less important is the psychical qualities, because the inner qualities and the clothing change absolutely the look. For example my father is in his forties, so he has grizzled hair and beard. His body is quite well built, but he has a small paunch. Besides these features, I think my father is completely elegant, and I think being dressy counts a lot. People usually feel more special themselves with those people, so I do.

Theodor

I have a wonderful creature, Theodor. Theo is a 5 years old Himalayan Persian cat. He was 2 when we got him from his previous owners. It was a big fight with my parents – especially with my mother – to get him, as we already had a bad experience whit cats. Theo is not my first cat, and his predecessor was the worst cat ever. We could not housebreak her, she climbed on our curtains, couch, and table, so we gave her to my grandmother, who lives in a detached house. That is why I had to persuade my mom for a very long time. But it worthed, since Theodor is the cutest living thing on Earth. He shows his love to me in so many different ways. If I could not see it with my own eyes, I would not believe it. He can sense when I am sick, and he comes and refuse to leave my room until I feel better. He sleeps in front of the door every single day, and he is so happy when I got home. My parents told me that when I do not sleep at home he is in my room all day long until I come home. Of course Theo is a true genteel cat, he refuses to drink simple water, he is only willing to drink from running water. Of course I can stroke him only when he wants me to do. He hates strangers, and usually he do not like males as well. Others may find these habits of him annoying but I think these little things make him who he is.
