City life or Country life
Nowadays people can live either in the city or in the country. Both of
them have a lot of benefits and drawbacks as well.
One of the most
important advantages of country life is its peacefulness. There are fewer cars
than in the city, therefore there is no traffic noise. Moreover, since there is
no industrial pollution in the country, the air is clean and fresh. In
addition, you can enjoy here the undisturbed nature, clean air, open spaces,
while in a city you are surrounded with concrete, plastic and glass, small
playgrounds and only a few parks. Another good side of living in the country is
the fact that people are more friendly and helpful and there is a strong sense
of community among them. Also, they are a lot more active when it comes to
doing things for their own community, such as renovating a school, building, or
planting trees. Furthermore, the country is much safer than the city: there are
fewer accidents and the crime rate is low. What is more, a quiet village is
free from stress. It offers you real relaxation after a hard day at work. There’s
no noise, flashing neon signs, nor crowds. Moreover, the country life is much
cheaper. You can even grow your own fruit and vegetables in the garden. In
addition, cities are noisy and dirty. People are very often lonely there
because they usually keep to themselves.
But on the other hand, life
is never boring in a city, there are a lot of things to do. There are a lot of
entertainment facilities, for example cinemas, theatres, museums, cafés and
restaurants, where you can meet your friends. Furthermore, in the city there is
variety of places of work, variety of schools, so there are better chances of
good education and employment. What is more, in the city you can do the
shopping easy and quickly, because there are a lot of shops there, which have
long opening hours. Moreover, in the country there is no sewage system and in
some places there is not even electricity. In addition, it takes the emergency
services three or even four times longer to get there to help you. Furthermore,
if you have a job or go to school, you probably spend hours every day commuting
to the city and you feel awful if you miss the only bus or get stuck in a
traffic jam on the way. What is more, the public transport is poor between the
city and the country, so you will have to use your own car if you want to get
anywhere. Moreover, in the country there is no bank, post office, and it’s
closed at 6 p.m. so if you run out of bread before supper or have an urgent
letter to spend, you have to get in your car or wait till the next day. In
addition, people in small towns or villages tend to be too nosy. They want to
find out everything about you and then go on gossiping about you, your family
and friends, because they have nothing else to do.
Thus, in conclusion, we
can say that both city life and country life has a lot of advantages and
disadvantages as well that is why everybody should find the best opportunity for
himself.
